Should I take home-warranty work to fill my schedule?

Home-warranty work fills slow weeks but rarely builds a business, because the rate is set by the warranty company and the customer relationship belongs to them. Treat it as capacity filler in shoulder seasons, not as a growth channel.

If you take it, cap it at a share of the schedule you can drop the moment your own demand returns, and use every visit to earn a review, capture the customer in your CRM, and quote the work the warranty will not cover. Track warranty jobs as their own service line, because a blended gross margin will hide what they actually cost you.
